Thirty-third Sunday
Mass Readings: Pages 155 – 157
Order of Mass: Pages 6 – 60

First Reading: at first sight, this passage describes the perfect wife (such as a future bridegroom will be looking for), and it does. But it also describes the ideals of wisdom. So feminists need not fear that it belittles women; on the contrary, the virtues women display are the ones all wise people should have.
Psalm: this ‘wisdom psalm’ continues the theme, that the truly blessed are those who “fear the Lord”.
Second Reading: fittingly as we approach the end of the Church’s year, St Paul focuses on the Day of Judgement to come. But as we are ‘children of the light and of the day’ we need not fear it if we stay awake and sober in our spiritual lives.
Gospel: in the Parable of the Talents, the problem with the third servant is that he had no concern for, no love for the master. We, to whom many gifts have been entrusted, must demonstrate our love for Christ by using  those gifts in service of God and of neighbour.

Sunday Teas:
This Sunday’s teas will be served by the French Speaking Prayer Group.
Next Sunday’s teas will be served by the St Vincent de Paul Group.
Thank you to all those who help out with the Sunday Teas.

Last Week’s Collections: The 1st collection was £613.28p + £475.70p in Gift Aid Envelopes giving us a parish total of £ 1088.98p. The 2nd collection for Parish Funds was £78.75p. Thank you for your generosity. Today’s retiring collection is for the Archbishop’s Administration Fund.

Recently Deceased: Please pray for the souls and families of Elizabeth Morrison and Lily Donohoe. Elizabeth Morrison’s Requiem mass will be on Monday 27th November at 2pm.
Lily Donohoe’s Requiem Mass will be on Friday 8th December at 12noon.

Please note that these classes are the last ones for this year so please speak to Father Sunith if you would like to attend. It is important that you can attend ALL three classes. The next classes will not be until February 2018.

St Anthony’s Parish Christmas Fair: Please make a note that our Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 2nd December. Please donate items in good condition. We are unable to take electrical items, second hand clothing or food. The popular bottle stall will also need donations that are still in date. We will be collecting up until the date of the Fair. Thank you.

Church Electrics: Please note that the Diocesan Art and Architecture committee has approved the plan for the new lighting system. Once we have heard from the Diocesan Finance Office we will hopefully get the system installed. There will be some disruption to the week-day morning masses.
