We kindly ask that you respect our Parish Church guidance:
¨ Please turn off your mobile phone when you enter the Church.
¨ Please remember that many parishioners like to pray before and after the mass so please be respectful and keep talking/noise to a minimum.
¨ People displaying any symptoms of Covid or Flu should stay at home and not travel to church or participate in person.
¨ The use of face masks is a personal choice.
¨ Holy Communion can now be received on the tongue or on the hand and The Sign of Peace can now be carried out with handshakes (if you so wish).
Mass times:
Mondays to Saturdays: 9.30am (and 7.30pm on Tuesdays);
Sunday Masses: 6pm (Saturday evenings); 9.30am; 11.15am and 5.30pm.
Adoration and Benediction: Every Friday at 7:30pm
Please note that after every week day mass (except Wednesdays) The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for 30 minutes so that parishioners can pray for world peace.
The Angelus
The Angelus will be said every Saturday at 6pm, before the evening Mass, and after the 11.15am Mass on Sunday.

Sunday Teas: The next Sunday teas will be served by the following groups:
6th October: The Knights of St Columba (KSC)
13th October: The Parish Pastoral Council
20th October: The Union of Catholic Mothers (UCM)
Recently Deceased: Please pray for the souls of Clare McNamara and for the members of the Catholic clergy who have died recently. May their souls rest in peace.
The funeral for Clare McNamara will be on Wednesday 16th October at 11am.

Statue of Mary: As October is the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary of the the Blessed Virgin Mary, you are invited to borrow the statue of Mary for family prayer in your household. Please be considerate and return the statue after 48 hours (2 days) and record your name and date on the statue form. Thank you.
RCIA: The classes for those who wish to become Catholics will begin soon. So if you are an adult who would like to become a Catholic or are a baptised Catholic who has not received First Holy Communion or Confirmation or if you are baptised in another church and would like to become a Catholic then please fill in an RCIA application form (forms available in the narthex) and/or speak to Father Sunith.
Lighted Candles: Please DO NOT move around the church with lighted candles. Once the candle is lit, do not move it, please leave it in the metal candle holder.
KSC Barn Dance: The Knights of St Columba are holding a Barn Dance for the Parish on Friday 8th November starting 7.30pm at the Melvin Halls, Melvin Road SE20. Entrance Tickets are £10 per head with under 16s free, and will be on sale after Sunday masses starting 13th October and at the door on the night. The previous barn dance held earlier this year proved to be a very enjoyable event for the parish and the aim is to repeat the success.
Anerley Bridge Club: Anerley Bridge Club is seeking new members. They are a social and friendly club. They meet every Monday from 12.30 – 4.30pm. The weekly subscription fee is £4 which includes refreshments. For more information, please contact Bill on 07949 871865 or 020 8771 1876 or just drop in on Monday at 12.30pm. They look forward to seeing you.
CAFOD Family Fast Day (5th and 6th October): Thank you for welcoming Jonathan Spink to update you on the work of CAFOD and thank you for your kind donations and prayers. CAFOD would love for you to join their volunteer team and you are warmly invited to contact the local CAFOD centre on southwark@cafod.org.uk. If you have any questions or want to know more about volunteering, please do chat to Jonathan after Mass.
Divine Mercy Retreat: The Divine Mercy Apostolate, London is holding a Divine Mercy Retreat at St Georges RC Church, 970 Harrow Road, Sudbury, Wembley, Middlesex, HA0 2QE on Saturday 26 October from 1 pm to 4:30 pm. The Retreat will include teachings on the Holy Rosary, Message of Divine Mercy, Holy Mass, Hour of Mercy with Stations of the Cross, Adoration and Benediction and Veneration of the Image of Merciful Jesus. The Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies: The CCRS is a knowledge-based, internationally recognised qualification that provides participants with an understanding of the teachings of the Catholic faith. This course presents the basic foundational teachings of the Catholic Church in a manner that is captivating, inspiring, and applicable. The CCRS is designed and intended to support the Archbishop’s vision of missionary parishes and schools by cultivating an evangelistic spirit. Participants will be equipped to make an informed and practical contributions to their chosen field of ministry within the Church. Please visit aec.rcaos.org.uk/ccrs for further information. Closing date for applicants this year is 4 November 2024.
The Archbishop’s Certificate: The Archbishop’s Certificate (ArchCert) is a two-year online course incorporating three in person study days for all in Southwark who wish to understand their faith in a more profound way and be able to share it with both confidence and joy. The Archbishop’s Certificate is in accord with Archbishop John Wilson’s vision for a missionary archdiocese and is open to all who work towards this. The course will commence on 12th October 2024 with an introductory zoom session and the first in person session will take place on 19th October 2024 at St George’s Cathedral. Thank you to all those people who help support the Parish: Those who help in whatever way in the Parish, serve on the altar, catechists, read at Mass, clean the Church, arrange flowers, help with Parish events or generally help in the background. All are thanked for their generous help and support.
