¨ People displaying any symptoms of Covid should stay at home and not travel to church or participate in person.

¨ Hand sanitiser is available near the entrances to the Church.

¨ The use of face masks is a personal choice.

¨ Holy Communion can now be received on the tongue or on the hand and The Sign of Peace can now be carried out with handshakes (if you so wish).

The Angelus

The Angelus will be said every Saturday at 6pm, before the evening Mass, and after the 11.15am Mass on Sunday.

The parish website www.stanthonyofpaduaanerley.com has details of the weekly Mass Intentions.

Our Lady of the Rosary

October is a month dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. The rosary is integral to the spiritual life of many Catholics and, if we deepen our understanding of the foundations of our rosary prayers, we can, in turn, deepen our devotion to Mary, the Mother of God.

During the month of October, if you would like to take the statue of Our Lady home with you so that you can pray in your own home then please do so.  Please do not keep it for longer than 2 nights so that others can also have an opportunity to take it home.

Sunday Teas: The next Sunday teas will be served by the following groups:

1st October: The Union of Catholic Mothers (in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support)

8th October: The Parish Pastoral Council

15th October: The Knights of St Columba

Recently Deceased: Please pray for the soul of Martin Finn.  Martin Finn’s funeral will be on Monday 2nd October at 12.30pm followed by the committal at Beckenham Cemetery at 2pm. May his soul rest in peace.

Macmillan Coffee Morning: The UCM will be holding the annual Macmillan Coffee morning/cake sale in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Sunday 1st October in the Parish Centre after the 9.30am mass. Please pop in and buy a cake!

Knights of St Columba: The Knights of St Columba will be holding their monthly council meeting on Sunday 15th October at 11am in the Parish Centre (after the teas and coffees).  Any man of the Parish that may be interested in the Knights and their activities in the parish and could consider joining are cordially invited to attend to find out more during this short meeting.

First Holy Communion 2024: Please note that application forms for the sacrament of First Holy Communion are now available at the Church entrance.  If your child is 8 years old or in Year 3 and you would like them to receive the sacrament of First Holy Communion next year then please complete a form and return it to Father Sunith.

Confirmation 2024: If you would like to receive the sacrament of Confirmation then please complete an application form (available in the Church entrance)and return it to Father Sunith as soon as possible.

Choir Practice for 9.30am Sunday Mass: There will be a choir practice from 3-4pm at the Church on Sunday 15th October.  All are welcome.

Bishop Howard Tripp  RIP: Bishop Howard Tripp’s first anniversary of death is on 3rd October. There will be a Year’s Mind Mass for him – celebrated at St George’s Cathedral – the day after, on Wednesday 4th October at 12.30pm. Bishop Paul Hendricks will be the main celebrant.  This Mass will be simply the usual lunchtime Cathedral Mass, but it was felt important to mark Bishop Howard’s first anniversary in some small way, in the place where he lies at rest in the Cathedral crypt.  Bishop Howard gave 24 years of devoted episcopal service as Auxiliary Bishop in the South West Area of the Diocese, and continued his episcopal service indirectly during his 18 years of retirement. May he rest in peace and rise in glory!  Everyone is most welcome to attend the Mass.
The Way of the East: Faith, Prayer and Worship on the Second Saturday afternoon of each month (from 14th October to 11th May 2024) at the Ukrainian Cathedral, Duke Street, W1K5BQ.  Please see the Society of Chrysostom for further details and to book a place – johnchrysostom@btinternet.com.

Gift Aid Envelopes: Please collect your box from the back of the Church.  Please note that if you are a basic rate UK tax payer, and are not yet a member of the Gift Aid Scheme, completing a Gift Aid envelope (at the back of the Church) will help to support the Church even further.  Donating through Gift Aid means that the Church can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give.  It will not cost you any extra.

Financial Support: We appreciate your continued care and support for our parish Community.  Parishioners can contribute directly to the Parish bank account: Natwest Bank Beckenham Branch, Sort Code 60-02-12 and Account Number 46000208. Tax payers, please join the Gift Aid programme allowing our parish to increase the value of every donation it receives from tax payers by 25%.
