Welcome to St. Anthony’s Church
We kindly ask that you respect our Parish Church guidance:
¨ Please turn off your mobile phone when you enter the Church.
¨ Please remember that many parishioners like to pray
before and after the mass so please be respectful and keep talking/noise to a minimum.
¨ People displaying any symptoms of Covid, Flu or Norovirus should stay at home and not travel to church or participate in person.
¨ The use of face masks is a personal choice.
¨ Holy Communion can now be received on the tongue or on the hand and The Sign of Peace can now be carried out with handshakes (if you so wish).
Mass times:
Mondays to Saturdays: 9.30am (and 7.30pm on Tuesdays)
Sunday Masses: 6pm (Saturday evenings); 9.30am; 11.15am and 5.30pm.
Adoration and Benediction: Every Friday at 7:30pm
The Angelus: The Angelus will be said every Saturday at 6pm, before the evening Mass, and after the 11.15am Mass on Sunday.
Sunday Teas: The next Sunday teas will be served by the following groups:
7th September: Knights of St Columba
14th September: The Parish Pastoral Council
21st September: The Union of Catholic Mothers
First Holy Communion: The First Reconciliation and Holy Communion programme is due to start soon. Therefore, if you want your child, who is in Yr3 or above, to participate in the programme, please complete an application form from the back of the church. The form can be given to Fr Joseph or posted in at the presbytery next to the church. You will then be contacted in due course.
Enrolment Forms for Confirmation can be found at the back of the Church.
Recently Deceased: Please continue to pray for the soul of Father Sunith who died earlier this year.

Annual Diocesan Day for Catechists: Saturday 20 September – Annual Diocesan Day for Catechists. Registration now open! You are invited to join us for a day filled with teachings and prayer and a chance to meet fellow Catechists. Join us at St George’s Cathedral, SE1 6HU from 10am. March for Life: The annual March for Life will be taking place in London on Saturday 6th September, beginning with a 10.30am Mass in Westminster Cathedral. The March leaves at 1.30pm from the Emmanuel Centre in Marsham Street, SW1P 3NT to finish at Parliament Square at 4pm. More information at www.marchforlife.co.uk

Pilgrimage of Hope: The Pilgrimage of Hope is a national walking pilgrimage for England and Wales with four main Ways converging at the Cathedral of St Barnabas, Nottingham, on Saturday 13th September 2025., the eve of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. It is an initiative of the Hearts in Search of God project which promotes and develops walking pilgrimages in our nations. Registration is open for Day Pilgrims but will close on 21st August 2025. Please see the notice board for further details.
The Well with Christopher West and Mike Mangione: There will be a special evening of beauty, reflection and eucharistic revival at St George’s Cathedral on Thursday 11th September. Well known author and Theology of the Body expert, Dr Christopher West, is coming to the UK with musician Mike Mangione to invite us to meet at the Well. Building a Better Marriage: Saturday 13th September 2025 9.30am-4.30pm at Amigo Hall, St George’s Cathedral, Lambeth Road, London SE1 6HR. This is a day in which married couples can privately explore their relationship more deeply and gain valuable insights into the communication and the call of the Church to the married. There is no charge for this course, but booking is essential. Please contact Carole on mflkent@rcaos.org.uk or phone 07983 524 727. Refreshments will be provided but please bring a packed lunch.
A Service of Hope and Healing: You are warmly invited to the Archdiocese of Southwark’s annual service for Healing and Hope for those that have been harmed by abuse, led by Archbishop John Wilson. The service will be on 24th September 2025 at 6.30pm at St George’s Cathedral SE1 7HY.
Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies: The CCRS is a knowledge-based, internationally recognised qualification that provides participants with an understanding of the teachings of the Catholic faith. It enhances the understanding that education within the Church is a life-long process which leads to greater intimacy with Jesus Christ. This course presents the basic foundational teachings of the Catholic Church in a manner that is captivating, inspiring, and applicable. The CCRS is designed and intended to support the Archbishop’s vision of missionary parishes and schools by cultivating an evangelistic spirit. Participants will be equipped to make an informed and practical contributions to their chosen field of ministry within the Church. Please visit aec.rcaos.org.uk/ccrs for further information.
Lourdes Pilgrimage 2025: 21st – 25th October Cost £399: A pilgrimage trip with a number of places left. Costs include return flights from Stansted half board accommodation, transfer from/to Lourdes.£70 single supplement. Children under 16 go for £199. For more details contact Fr. Thank you to all those people who help support the Parish: Those who help in whatever way, serving on the altar, being a catechist, reading at Mass, cleaning the Church, arranging flowers, helping with Parish events or general help in the background. All are thanked for their generous help and support.
